Grade 5 Trip Week

Grade 5 Trip Week
Grade 5 trip week was awesome!

Well most of it was the hike not so much but I'll get to that
later anyway first when we got off the bus we settled in to our rooms, had a scavenger hunt and then proceeded IN ACT OF PURE TORTURE.....(wait for it)  HIKING!!!!!! needless to say I'm not much for wilderness or anything that includes walking outside for a  long period of time I still excersize (so need to lecture me about the beauty of the great outdoors)but I prefer being tucked up in a dark room with a movie and/or good book but anyway we walked and walked and walked and walked and walked some more and walked! anyway the whole trip was not horrible actually if I had to describe it in one word I would say AMAZING! we had group activities I shared a room with two of my friends there names are Amelia & Stacey
here are the links if you want to check out their blogs!

Stacey! & Amelia

Well anyway all in all it was a very successful trip we celebrated moon festival swam chilled out and on our last night we DISCOED LIKE NEVER BEFORE!! YAY I love discoing! So I think we all pretty much had a great time on camp!

Shark Tank Energy Style

Hey Guys Penny here and today I'm going to be talking to you about a project that fith grade recently started it is basically Shark Tank energy style (hence the name of this blog post) if you know the TV show Shark Tank then you know that basically there is a panel of judges (the sharks) and they have a lot of money so people come (innovators or inventors) and they ask for money to help their company in exchange for X percent of their profit or company you tell the judges about your company or product and tell them what you will do with the money so basically at school our unit of inquiry is Electricity & Energy so we were put into certain groups and then told the region we were working on and soon we will be told what type of energy we are working ok you may be confused so let me explain it to you we are put into groups and we have to convince the sharks that the energy source that we chose would be good for a specific region

Well that's all for now I hope you enjoyed this post if you did make sure that you check out my other blog posts but bye for now and see you next time on My Blog!

World Children's Day!

Hey Guys Penny here and today I'm going to be talking to you about World Children's Day, a day for children by children to help change the lives and save the lives of all the children that live in poverty and don't have the opportunities that they should have. At UNIS we celebrated world children's day by having a little competition. Basically you have three questions you can answer

  • If you had a superpower that could be used to improve the lives of young people, what would it be and how would you use it
  • If you had to choose one thing you think every young person like you in the world has a right to, what would it be?
  • Every child should have ..........
And you could submit them either on paper or on flip grid and the prize is absoloutley awesome! the winner gets to take over Ms Megan's office for a day, go to meetings, and basically be a principal! I am so jealous of the people who one a boy from grade 2 and a girl from grade 3 congratulations!
And here is a link to a world children's day video clip

Watch it is Great! and remember it was made for children by children and it features children from 130 different country!

Well that's all for now I hope you enjoyed this post if you did make sure that you check out my other blog posts but bye for now and see you next time on My Blog!

Katy By Jacqueline Wilson

Katy By Jacqueline Wilson

Katy is about a girl who is always getting into trouble and when she goes somewhere she's not supposed Izzie her fussy stepmom says she cant go with the others to the pool she goes into the secret garden (their neighbour's backyard) she takes a terrible fall and loses something that she never knew was so important and might change her life forever Katy is a moving story that will make you cry and smile from ear to ear at the same time it has ups and downs and is overall Jacqueline Wilson's bests I wouldn't recommend this book for young readers because some of the concepts in it are a bit depressing like the fact that her mom died and what happens to Katy is quite severe but otherwise it is an absolutely amazing book and you should totally read it

Reading Review on Long Walk To Water

Whats up everyone? Penny here and today I have a review for you (we actually finished the book quite a long time ago sorry I didn't blog about this sooner) guys, its on an awesome book probably the best one we've read this year it's truly an amazing book, and I strongly encourage everyone & anyone to read it here is a pic of it!                                                                               →→→→→→→

So it is about the children of Sudan but not just any child of Sudan (well he is a man now but anyway) He is Sudan's very own Salva Dut. This book is all about him and his journey away from the war . So he was separated from his family because of the war at a very young age he goes through things that people like you and me can scarcely imagine, (even more reason to read this it will educate you as well) and it is a truly amazing and inspiring book. By the way guys Salva actually started an organization called Water for South Sudan, and hence the name is to give water to everyone in South Sudan and help them have good hygiene, access to clean water and education. in fact here's a link to it Go check it out!
And please go check
Well that's all I have for you today but make sure you check out my other blog posts but bye for now and see you next time on My Blog!
